STORM CYCLE is on the move again...

Storm Cycle is traveling again with two new dates scheduled for Los Angeles, CA and Branson, MO.

For the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, select pieces, including three important new panels, will be shown at the Craft in America Study Center August 19 - Sept 18, 2010. An Opening Reception and Artist Talk will take place on Sat. Aug. 21, starting from 5-8 pm with a Trunk Show (at Freehand) taking place all of Saturday. Please RSVP for the lecture and opening at Craft in America Study Center

Because of his relationship with Craft in America, and the timeliness of the Storm Cycle subject matter at this 5th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Tom is one of the artists featured for the launch of the NEW PBS ARTS PORTAL.

The Craft in America film crew was here in New Orleans in April filming Tom's life & work and capturing firsthand the stories of Storm Cycle for a new episode titled "Messages" that is scheduled to air on PBS in Spring 2011. The footage from that visit is being presented on the PBS website along with text and images of 7 storm cycle panels.

From Sept. 11- Oct. 31,2010, Silver Dollar City Harvest Festival in Branson, MO is hosting a new exhibit designed by the creators of the Peabody-award winning PBS documentary series, Craft in America, featuring unique American artists. Thomas Mann was selected as one of 50 of America's top artists who have chosen their most stunning and unique works of art for display. Tom chose Markings No. 4, Wall Street and Angel from Storm Cycle.

Please inquire if interested in hosting a Storm Cycle exhibition. 504-581-2111

ABOUT STORM CYCLE
Thomas Mann, feeling an emotional urgency to understand and respond to the devastation in his hometown, began creating a body of work in his signature collage-assemblage style using materials gathered from the streets of New Orleans post-Katrina. Each of the 20 panels of Storm Cycle include a removable, wearable jewelry-object within an assemblage of found objects and photos depicting the aftermath of the hurricane -- Each panel telling a different story.

Many pieces are still available for sale.
You can view the collection here.
